About Us

My family and I moved from Bellingham, WA (one of the largest biking and hiking communities in the US)  to Las Vegas. Growing up in Washington, I was able to mountain bike in my backyard. There was a huge biking community that I was apart of and did not want to leave that behind once I moved to Vegas. I was worried that the outdoor community was limited because Las Vegas is known for nightlife, entertainment, and the heat.

To my pleasant surprise, I found out that the biking community was much larger than I thought. Unlike Washington, the Las Vegas hiking and biking community is unique; we can be outdoors all year round.

The goal of Desert Spins is to inspire Las Vegas residents to go outside! Even in the 100 degree heat we can hike and bike in cooler weather at Mt Charleston, which is only 30 minutes away from the Strip. The winters here are perfect, there are so many trails to ride and hike.
